Annual Town Meeting / Presidential Preference – Tuesday March 3, 2020

There are a number of Town Officer positions that will become vacant in 2020, both elected and appointed positions. Most Boards and Commission vacancies are filled by an appointment of the Selectboard (Planning Commission, Development Review Board, Conservation Commission). If you have interest in serving on one of the Boards or Commissions speak to the Chairperson of that Board about your interest.

 

Annual Town Meeting – AND – Presidential Preference Election (Super Tuesday) – Tuesday March 3, 2020
Polls Open 10:00 AM – Close 7:00 PM

Shrewsbury Informational Meeting will be held on Monday evening March 2, 2020. Start time 6:00 PM

Volunteers always needed!! – If you are interested in assisting at the Polls during the day or counting ballots in the evening on March 3rd please contact the Town Clerk.

Because Presidential Primaries and Presidential Election only happen every four years, this is a reminder regarding the Presidential Preference Election (aka – the Presidential Primary):

You must declare a political party when voting in the
PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY!

V.S.A. Title 17, Chapter 57, section 2704

“A person voting at the Primary shall be required to ask for the ballot of the party in which the voter wishes to vote and an election official shall record the voter’s choice of ballot by marking the entrance checklist with a letter code, as designated by the Secretary of State, to indicate the voter’s party choice.”
